Fire Alarm Door Magnets Wiring
Mount the wall plate in an electrical outlet box or use a surface mount box sold separately.
Fire alarm door magnets wiring. Power shall be controlled by the fire control system. Wire these holders directly into your fire alarm system. Wiring them depends on what smoke heat alarms you have in if you have a fire panel unlikely in domestic unless landlord flats then use the open on alarm volts free relays to drop power to magnets if you have mains smoke heat detectors then they need to have an auxillary volts free output so you can use it again to drop power from magnets on alarm. We can use a relay to drop power to the electric lock or use an ip device that drops power using the network connection or add a power control box that drops power when the fire.
The door access control reader and the electric lock can be wired to the fire alarm in a number of different ways. Depending on your fire alarm installation you may need to install a magnetic door holder at the location of each fire door. A door holder prevents the door from closing because it hangs onto the door using magnetism. It will interrupt the power if alarmed causing the doors to be released thus allowing the door closers to close the doors.
The magnetic portion of this device is installed on the wall that meets the open fire door now to tie this whole concept together you will. When activated by a fire alarm the magnet shuts off and releases the door. When the fire alarm system detects smoke the current to the door holder turns off allowing the door to close. Making the magnetic field electrical current passes through the coil of the door holder.
When power is restored the magnets will re. For use with doors that already have a closer these holders keep doors open with an electromagnet. A magnetic door holder is a relatively simple device that when powered typically by 24vdc or 120vac will create a magnetic pull.
